Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy claims mum gave her 'violating' showers until age of 18

Nickelodeon child star Jennette McCurdy said she felt "disgusted" and "raped" after her mother forced her to take a bath until she was 18.

Jennette, now 31, opened up about her difficult relationship with her late mother, Debra McCurdy, and how it impacted her life.

On the Louis Theroux podcast, she said that until I was 17 or 18, my mother showered with me and I "shampooed and conditioner and washed my hair."

The actress, best known for her role as Sam Bucket on the TV series iCarly, remembered Debra dressing neatly while washing her daughter.

"She checked my breasts and vagina in the shower and said she checked for lumps and just for cancer," Jennette said.

The star admitted that she felt "embarrassed" while showering.

“I knew he felt like he was insulting me. I have also done it. "She was having a tantrum," she said.

Jennette explained how it was "clear" that she would never be able to take a shower again.

She claimed that she didn't shower herself until her mother began treatment for cancer. Debra died of illness in 2013 at the age of 56.

After imagining why her mother didn't want to shower alone, Jennette said: It's about controlling your body. ”

"It was always clear to me that my mother didn't want me to grow up, not just for acting, but because when I was a little girl, I felt that my mother's values were tied to me. ”

"When she was younger, she had something to do, which was good. When I grew up, she seemed to have lost her purpose.

Speaking to host Louis Theroux, she said she asked her mother if she could stop her development when she was 11. Jennett claimed that her mother's recommendation to restrict calories led to this.

“She weighed me every day and taped my thighs. And it's kind of like a partner in crime, and I felt great," she said.

However, she admitted that she now understands how she is "distorting" the situation.

Genet said she struggled with anorexia and bulimia as a child but now believes she is "completely cured".
